Paris and Dublin 12.30-1.14

After Marseille and Nice, my family and I made our way up to Paris!

Notre Dame

Eiffel tower

I met up with Julia in Paris for a little bit. here we are posing in front of the Louvre.

And here are some more pictures of the Louvre, which is beautiful architecture by the way.

MONA LISA. HOLLAaaaaa....

Pompidou Museum:

Interesting architecture. And then weird contemporary art inside...

Arab World Institute:

The mechanics of the windows are pretty interesting because they are supposed to function like the aperture of a camera lens, opening and closing according to the light intensity outside.

Palace of Versaille:

The Palace was huge. And the gardens are enormous...so enormous that it's sort of a big maze from garden to garden, each with its own fountain of water or a statue of some sort.

Then it was Ireland with my older brother.
Dublin:

Ireland=Guinness beer.

Dublin Castle

Libeskind.

Ireland made me realize how much I miss grass, something I do not see much of in Europe.

My winter break was pretty chill and relaxing. I'm so glad that I was able to see my family and experience a little bit of Europe with them. <3

Marseille and Nice: 12.26-12.29

Winter break=4 weeks of play time.

I spent my winter break with family in France and Ireland.

Marseille:

Traveling with the family is definitely different than traveling with friends. The plus to traveling with family: can splurge more on food and shopping. Foie gras, tar tar, and duck. MMMmm.

The highlight of Marseille for me: Unite d’ Habitation by Le Corbusier(shown below).

I REALLY like.

I liked the park area with its friendly little trees. I liked the massive piloti’s. I liked the primary colors. I liked the wood plank imprints. I liked the view of the city from the top. Andddd I LIKED the awesome rooftop with running track, pool, funky shaped ventilation shafts, playground, etc. So quirky. So weird. So cool. :D

Macaroons are kind of delicious...

Nice and the French Riviera:

Statens Museum of Kunst 12.23

Art museum and my favorite art installation as of right now:
